Yesterday was the second day, without blogging. I wanted to, but I didn't or specifically I couldn't. But now I couldn't resist blogging during my office hours. Please note: If you are my manager and happen to see this blog, don't worry. I already took care of work for the entire week. By the way, Thanks to Tikona (a.k.a My internet service provider). By now you might have guessed that, my internet connection at home is not working.
I traveled and worked in few countries. And I never faced this internet issue in US/UK. Maybe once or twice, that too issue with my modem. Not their service. But for Indians these issues are no big deal because no service provider provides a better service. Unfortunately, I am affected by these issues more often. The connection that I have is a "wireless internet connection" with a receiver in my apartment terrace. I always think it is not wrong to knock of the word "wire" and call it as "less internet connection". Yes. That's how much frustrated I am. I call at least 10 times a month for some issues or other.
Here goes the conversation with the Tikona customer care executive at 9:30 pm:
[ring ring]
Customer Care Executive: Welcome to Tikona Care. This is ******. How may I help you?
Me: Hi, My name is ******, my net connection is not working.
CCE: Sorry for the inconvenience. May I get your customer id?
Me: I hear this all the time. Anyway, my customer id is ****** and connection is taken in the name of ******* and the registered phone number is *******.
[He might be surprised. But I am pretty sure after the customer id, he is going to ask me for those details.]
CCE: I apologize for the issue sir. What sort of error you are getting?
Me: Internet page cannot be displayed. It is not even letting me to the login page.
CCE: Have you tried .... [Before even he finished I started talking because I knew exactly what is going to come next.]
Me: I tried "ipconfig /release" and "ipconfig /renew", but it is not taking into effect. I also checked the "LAN settings" in "Internet Options". It all seems fine. I even tried rebooting the PC and it is not working. I checked the receiver and it is all powered on and looks fine.
CCE: Sorry sir. I will log a complaint and a Technician will look at it very soon.
[They keep apologizing all the time. I think they are taught to apologize more than solving issues.]
Me: Okie.
CCE: Sir, What is the convenient time for the technician to call you? Also please switch on the PC and be infront of it. So that the technician the troubleshoot the issue.
Me: He can call me right now.
CCE: Its not possible today sir. Our working time is from 8am to 10pm only.
Me: Yeah, you still got 30 more mins. Right?
CCE: But sir, it takes them 30 mins to process the complaint. So, can you tell me a convenient time tomorrow?
Me: How about same time tomorrow?
CCE: Okie sir.
Me: Same time in the sense 9:30pm. Don't call me an hour or two earlier when I am on my way home. Because, it happened many a times before.
[They always call me when I am at work or on road. It irks me.]
CCE: Okie sir. I will specifically mention the time. Is there anything I can help you with?
Me: If your technician can solve this issue and it doesn't happen again, that's all I need.
CCE: Okie sir. Have a good day.
["Have a good day"?? I think they aren't serious?? The only time I get to chat with my friends and socialize in networks through FB, G+ is evenings only. That's ruined now. How am I going to have a good day??]
Me: Bye.
[Click]
I watched "Death Race" in Star movies for 10th time (I suppose) and went to bed.
Hope the Technician calls me at 9:30pm sharp today.

An Ant Story
It was saturday or lazyday as I call it, after a long friday night party. Morning went as usual lying in bed waiting for noon so I can have brunch directly ;). When I decided its time to feel myself, I got up and went to bathroom. I turned on the tap for hot water. Thanks to the solar heater in terrace, it takes some time for hot water to travel 2 floors below to reach my bathroom tap. As it was filling slowly, I happened to notice something strange near the window.
At first I thought it was a big ant, bigger than regular ant. Closer look revealed it was not one, but two ants. Even careful observation showed that one of the ant is dead and being carried by its friend. Friend? I don't know. It could be its partner or parent or even its kid. But, I really thought they shared a unique bond within themselves.
I read somewhere, an ant can lift upto 10 times its weight. So, Its no big deal for the ant to life another one. But, why it was carrying the dead one was baffling me. It is carrying to give him a proper burial? No. I don't think that custom existed in ant family. I might be wrong also ;). The and was moving up and down holding his friend. This drama went for nearly 2 to 3 mins and I totally forgot about hot water which now was running over.
Reality kicked in and as my inner peace (just like mentioned in Kung Fu Panda 2) was disturbed, I went ahead to have my bath. Well, I wanted to know the latest updates on the Ant story. So, I moved near the window again. To my surprise the dead one is gone now. I think it was accidently being dropped. Because, his friend was searching frantically for him going up and down. I felt sorry for him. In any way I can help the poor ant find his dead friend? No, I don't think the ant will understand my intentions. But this little episode kept me thinking. Love or friendship whatever it was between those two taught me something.
Instead of losing someone you love and regret later, why lose them in the first place. That tiny little ant taught me something today other than hardwork.
